Founded in 2025, Team Huddle NYC is a social initiative that develops programmes and pathways for active sports participation, learning, and wellbeing for students in underserved communities. It focuses on three practical areas of action to enable participation:
Access & Infrastructure: By fundraising, it seeks to work in partnership with Full Court Peace, a non-profit organisation, to refurbish sports facilities across local neighbourhoods, with the aim of extending safe and functional spaces for physical activity and large and small-scale sports events and training.
Learning: By drawing inspiration from alternative educational models, the Project seeks to introduce students to the fundamentals of business and economics through the lens of soccer, by explaining academic ideas through examples from real-world gameplay.
Physical & Emotional Well-being: By conducting interactive sessions, encouraging conversations about mental health, peer and community support, framed to make these topics more approachable for student-athletes, and to underscore the essential links between physical and emotional well-being.
These efforts combine in the continued effort to make organised sports and educational resources more accessible to young people who deserve, as any of us do, the great benefits of a healthy and active life.
